Long Time....

.....& I have been bad & not even tried to keep up a regular entry, but I'm going to try & change that even if its only once a month. I have given up smoking again - it has only been since Tues but no relapses so far - keep your fingers crossed.

We have been to Glastonbury festival again this year. Quite a big group of us went, apart from Colin & I, there was my daughter Laura & her boyfriend Dickon, Rich & Tiff, Sam, Karen & Luke, Kerra & James & Cathryn & Nicki. At least it only rained on Thurs & it soon dried up so wellies were only out for a couple of days! A not bad line up, some days we had to flip a coin to decide what to go & see but no coin flips for Neil Diamond. He was the highlight of the w/e for me. http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2008/artists/neildiamond/

I haven't done much stitching since I've been back but I thought I would put in the projects I've done so far this year.
This is "Memories" by Jayne Hall of Jayne's Attic। It was a SAL (stitch a-long) over five months। Jane supplied the fabric, threads & beads & the instructions of course. It is not just cross stitch but speciality stitches as well, I loved every bit of it. I did in "memory" of my Welsh Springer Spaniel "Abi" who had a stroke last Sept. I do miss her.

This is "Silent Flutter" by Loopylou Designs. This was another SAL but I didn't "sal" at the time & I actually started it in May when I went to Centre Parcs in Cumbria with Jayne, Carol, Kate & Jane. That was a lovely break. I flew up to Newcastle & Jayne picked me up from the airport, then the next day we picked Carol up & we drove to Whinfell where we met Jane off the train in Penrith from Manchester & Kate joined us later. Back to the stitching - this was also supplied with some dried lavender so when I eventually get some backing material I think I may try to make it into a fragrant biscornu.

When I first joined Jayne's Attic forum I went on a "Stitch & Stash w/e in Hull. The workshop was being given by Carol Tinson of "Heirloom Embroideries" & the piece is called "I made it my own". I eventually finished it earlier this year - only a year after I started it! Quite good really. I did have to unpick all the light green as I ran out of what I was using & couldn't match it. So I got some as close as I could & stitched all the light green areas again

This is "Teeny Tiny Tooth Fairy Pillow". Its not quite finished yet. It will be for Colins daughter who has just started losing her milk teeth.

This is the "Alphabet Tree" a freebie by Blue Ribbon Designs. I stitched it as part of a monthly challenge on Jaynes Attic forum. It is supposed to be made up into something but I haven't done that yet!!!

This is "Hedgehog Quaker" another freebie by The Workbasket. Just because I wanted to - no idea what I'll do with it!!

My First

Hello, well this is my first entry in this very new entity of blogging. I could give you my life story in this first entry but that would be just so boring. So I won't.
You can see a bit about me in my profile if you care to look. Basically I'm 48yrs, live with my partner, Colin, my daughter, Laura & our Welsh springer, Abi. We moved to this house in Shirehampton at the end of September & Colin & I have bought it together. Colin has a daughter from his previous marriage & she comes to stay at weekends & during the holidays. I also have a son, Richard, who is at university in Birmingham. He doesn't live with me, he stayed with his Dad when we split up, but he stays with his girlfriends Mum when they aren't at uni.
